Create free motion drawings and pictures with our teacher Lucy Dorothy Nichols.

In this three hour workshop you will be shown how to setup your machine for free motion sewing as well as various techniques including thread sketching and raw edge appliqué. All fabrics and templates will be provided to enable you to create several small designs.

About our teacher:   Lucy Dorothy Nichols is a paper and textile artist based in North Hampshire. Her work is an eclectic mix of paper folding, cutting, sculpture and stitch, with a quest to blur the boundaries between paper and fabric a common theme. Often using reclaimed papers and recycled fabrics, Lucy enjoys creating two and three dimensional pieces, which are both thoughtful and humorous in style.

Materials: Sewing machines, must be in good working order and have the ability to free motion /  drop the feeding dog.  You'll need a free motion darning foot and please also bring with you a basic sewing kit including black thread.

Skills: Suitable for those with a basic knowledge of machine sewing, this is a wonderful opportunity to find out just how easy it is to use your machine for drawing and doodling!
