Join experienced improv quilter Nicholas Ball on an liberating quilty journey. In his cabbage workshop, he will show you how to use lines and texture of unusual sources of inspiration to create quilt blocks. Students will make a cabbage mini quilt using his slabs and triangle technique.
This is a class perfect for anyone that have taken Nick's beginners improv class and those who have approached improv before. The class will show you how a liberated approach to sewing will open up a world of creative possibilities.
About your teacher: Nicholas Ball is a fabric addict from Cardiff, South Wales. After graduating Art School in 2006, it would be some six years before the quilting bug bit. With a passion for improv quilting, Nicholas' aesthetic is an organic one, preferring to sew without the use of patterns or templates. He takes a lot of inspiration from natural world and his Vegetable Patch quilts showcase his love for liberated sewing.
Materials: Students will need to bring or buy fabric and other haberdashery for this class. Please bring your own sewing machines for the class and other tools will be provided. Fabrics and sewing supplies are available to purchase from our shop. Students will received 10% off on the day of the class. Once registered, you will received a list of materials required for the class.
Skills: Student should be able to use the sewing machine independently, have some sewing experience and have completed a few patchwork or sewing projects prior to the class.
