In this two-afternoon course, you will learn all the techniques for making a star patchwork runner, from design, cutting, machine piecing and quilting. You will learn to make a patchwork runner featuring a star and the centre piece. During the session, sew and turn method will be taught as our chosen finishing method but instructions will be given should you choose to finish off with french binding. At the end of the course, you will leave with a beautifully runner, ready to decorate your table. Suitable for patchwork beginners.
You will also be given instructions on how to scale this up to make a longer runner or apply the technique to make a quilt top.
Please note: Students are required to complete some of the 'homework' at home in between classes.
Materials: Students will need to bring or buy fabric and other haberdashery for this class. Please bring your own sewing machines for the class and other tools will be provided. Fabrics and sewing supplies are available to purchase from our shop. Students will received 10% off on the day of the class. Once registered, you will received a list of materials required for the class.
Skills: Student should be able to use the sewing machine independently and know how to sew a straight line.
